A Better Look At The 3DS LL/ XL Circle Pad Pro

Yesterday, we saw the first look at the mammoth-sized 3DS LL Circle Pad Pro from Nintendo of Japan's website. Today, thanks to the folks over at Kotaku, we get to have a much better at the add-on. Aside from the filthy 3DS LL, the enlarged Circle pad Pro looks aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Generally, however, I believe this will receive an unpopular vote amongst Nintendo fans. Not only is it big and cumbersome, but there really isn't too many games that the device is compatible with.

As soon as I posted that I was thinking that's what he said the same! lol.
That thing is definitely humongous though. Are you interested in purchasing something like that since you have a 3DS XL?

Well at this time no. There would have to be a game that I really wanted to use it with. If I ever get Resident Evil then maybe. So many other pressing stuff to save for this will be on the back burner.

Then how would a Circle Pad Pro benefit you in any way? I used to think that it allowed both of the circle pads to be used simultaneously, but I soon learned that wasn't the case. Once I found out what the real purpose was, that it only really benefited left-handed players, I was pretty underwhelmed.

That is dependent on the game. For example in the case of Kid Icarus the only reason for the circle pad pro is if you are left handed. Though from what I know of Resident Evil you can use both circle pads to maneuver your character.

That is awesome! I didn't know it was dependent upon the game. In that case, I'm wondering why Kid Icarus: Uprising doesn't support that.

That was the biggest let down in that game. They wanted to force the players to use the stylus. Yes the stylus is accurate but the CPP would have been a great alternate. Oh well. It seems that even though you can also use this for KH Dream Drop Distance it is not as beneficial as the controller scheme in RE. I really hope more developers learn the best way to implement this accessory in the future.

I'm going to have to start working out more if I want to be able to play that thing for more than a couple minutes.

I think the girl in the picture has been playing with that thing all day. If she can do it...
