Animal Crossing Makes A Splash This Fall

By Kevin on Apr 22 2012 08:26 AM
Announced a few days ago during Nintendo Direct, Japanese 3DS owners will see the newest Animal Crossing title make landfall this Autumn. It will also be released this year in Europe and North America, after the Japanese release. Titled in Japan as Tobidase Dobutsu no Mor, or Animal Crossing: Jump Out, this newest installment is one that many of us are looking forward to.

Iwata didn't leave us many new details during this months Nintendo Direct, but at least we have a release window. Players will be able to take on the role as the town mayor, have a lot more control over personal customizations, and even visit a new shop, Kicks' Show Shop.

Personally, I'm looking forward to this title. Are you?

I have a feeling that this game is going to consume most of my time like AC:WW did on the DS.

Even though I own Animal Crossing: Wild World, I've never put more than a total of a few hours into it. I couldn't get into that game at all. For me, I felt like it was missing something. I might eventually give it another try though.

In support of the newest Animal Crossing title, I've recently pre-ordered my copy via Amazon. I'm truly looking forward to this one. An Animal Crossing with new features, a 3D environment, and new goods! What more can Animal Crossing fans ask for?
This is one of the most anticipated games for the 3DS in my opinion. Animal Crossing has a huge fan base but their has always been things that needed improvement (watering flowers). It seems they took the feedback from fans and a lot of issues have been addressed. Oober excited.
This is my most wanted game. I played the Wii version every day for about well over a year. I didn't much care for the DS version, but then I couldn't go online with mine and playing alone just wasn't very fun. So I'm hoping the 3DS version has a good way to play online with friends. I'm surpised it's not yet. It's taking forever!

I agree, this game is taking so long. I can't wait.
I have to agree with everyone else this definitely one of my most wanted games for the 3DS at this point. Especially with some of the improvements and changes that i heard they have made. Hopefully they show something on this game at E3 this week.
Oh yes I will be keeping an eye open for news on this game. I would imagine it is in the final development stage by now. One of the most simplist features that I am excited about is the fact that when you water flowers you see the raindrops on them! Am I the only one who found watering flowers very tedious and frustrating in the old games?
I keep thinking about how all the pictures and videos I've seen of the new AC that it doesn't look a whole lot different than the other versions. Sure, the houses might look different on the outside, but inside the houses are basically going to look the same. The funiture is just the same. I know many people have played many different version of this game going way back. I'm thinking maybe it's high time they really re-vamp it. It's probably not going to happen. But for those of you who've played this game since the very first version, it's probably not changed a whole lot. I bet the animal neighbours still say the same things they've said since day 1.
I understand your point. The thing is, those elements of the game work. As we seen with the countless Mario titles, there is always something they can not change much or it would not feel like the same game. Adding more possibilities like the wall hangings is a step in the right direction. I would also like to see ceiling lights.

My main concern is things to do with others. I can not be the only one that feels there is not enough to do in this game with friends. I really woukd like some fun mini games just to give variety to what can be done with others.
^ i agree completly i would love for there to be more interactive things to do with others!
I never played Wild World, but I did like City Folk. The original is my favorite though! I play it for hours on end.
If I get a 3DS, I'd probably make sure to get this game. The simplest game idea, ever, yet its extremely fun! The new items sound like they should be good and the variety of stuff will be excellent.
My thoughts are that this new Animal Crossing title will be released in Japan well before it's released in North America.

Well that is just a darn shame if that is the case.
Looks like we're not getting Animal Crossing in the EU or NA anytime this year. BUMMER! I'm especially annoyed after seeing this new trailer. I want this game sooo much. I hate that it's taking so long. It looks like they're really added some nice features.

I've played many versions of Animal crossing including the Gamecube, DS, and Wii versions. They all satisfied me, and so should this upcoming title for the 3DS. I can't wait!!
One thing I'm not entirely crazy about, is that the garbled speech from the animals will make a return. After a while, it started to become rather annoying. I know, this is a unique touch that comes along with the Animal Crossing franchise, but still. I hope Pitfall Seeds make a return. My son and I used to play pranks on some of the characters. We'd bury a Pitfall seed and lure one of them over so they fell in. That was pretty entertaining!
AHAahah i did the pitfall seed thing too and when i visited other towns i would bury them right by their houses ahaha me n my friend would have a war with those! I so cant wait for this game to come out though.. :kitty:
I never dig up anything until I passed over it because I hated dealing with those stupid pitfall seeds. I'd rather struggle to get out of the pit than waste pocket space carrying around those dumb seeds. LOL

You can't complain about that... because there's most likely going to be an option to disable that garbled speech. :P

How did I not know that? Better yet...where did you find that information, sir?

EDIT: Wait a sec. Wasn't there an option in Animal Crossing: City Folk to disable that option?
Yeah it kind of sucks that we have to wait for this game but since there are so many good titles coming out I am becoming ok with the idea that this is moved back. Once this comes out I may not play anything else so I would like to give other games a shot. Lol.

On a side note, look at this adorable fan art!

You definitely have a point there. I know there plenty of animal lovers out there, but there's also just so many great titles that Nintendo have showered us with.
