Rest easy, Animal Crossing fans! New Leaf is coming this June!

During the Valentine's Day Nintendo Direct presentation, Animal Crossing: New Leaf received release dates for the North American and European regions. On June 9th, Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be released in North America. Five days later, on June 14th, Europe will get a chance to become mayor. You will have the opportunity to purchase Animal Crossing: New Leaf via Nintendo 3DS eShop or in its retail form.

Will you download it, or purchase the retail version?

Awesome i'm the first to comment. Well I did play Animal Crossing: Wild World and i enjoyed it so I think I might buy this game.
My best friend has this game paid off for me so I am getting the physical disk. I am so happy that we finally have a release date. This is oober cool. I wonder what are the "new" online features only for North America.
I'm so happy to know that in about 4 months time I'll become a Mayor! My mom is going to be so proud.

I'll be purchasing the physical copy of the game because Nintendo doesn't have a cloud system for saved content and games seem more secure on a retail cartridge.

When they announced the retail date I made a noise that was somewhere between a turkey gobble and a gasp. Then I was overcome with a sense of relief. Then I felt I had moved closer towards enlightenment. Then I realized that June is still pretty far away. And now I'm just back to waiting like everyone else.
Grr... How dare they move the release time! :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :choke: :choke: :mad2:

Wait... WAS THAT... Cube?!
I was debating between physical and digital as well. I think PastaFriend has it right, physical game is the way to go here. Atleast for this particular game.

And lets all cross our fingers there is a Wii U title in this franchise.

Does anyone know if you can import your character from AC:City Folk? I havent heard any mention of it.

I have also heard no mention of it. I think that Lindsay and Kohei who have a video playthrough of this game (w/ English translation) were asked this question in one of the videos. From what I remember their answer was that there could not be a transfer method since this game changes the conventions of the game entirely. You don't start as a resident but a Mayor. So, I would not get your hopes up.

I am sure that there will be a Wii U version in the franchise BUT I think that is a long way off. More towards the end of the Wii U's life cycle is when I think that will happen. It would be interesting to see how they take the franchise from here though.
I always enjoy hard copies of games.. having a tangible object helps me fully feel the gaming glory.. the suspense of placing the cartridge, the adorable click as the game locks into place, hearing the jingle of the game when it loads.. *sigh*

On that note: ANIMAL FREAKIN' CROSSING AYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAY *native american victory cry*
