During this Nintendo Direct livestream?

EDIT: FUUUUUUUU, I missed it! What's up with the link above then? Is the same exact conference airing at different times, for different parts of the world?

Also, a patch (supposedly coming in May?), will give 3DS owners the option to patch (fix) the Maka Wuhu glitch in Mario Kart 7. The update will be required for you to play online. I'm sure some of you will be happy to hear that.

I'm happy about the news... but I'm going to try to catch as many noobs sucker before the patch!

"Catch" them? What do you mean by that exactly, King Mika?

"Catch" means "discover or come upon accidentally." So I'm going to focus on discovering some noobs in Mario Kart 7 from this point on. It's tricky, but it can be done. Once you discover a rare noob in a high VR race, you can join their races in the future that's full of noobs to catch sucker!

What's the point though?

I was hoping there was a way to report the cheaters, then have them blacklisted somehow from the server.

To brag. To unlock the Gold Standard (kart body) faster.

I'm still failing to see the point, though. How are you able to have bragging rights, if you have nothing to show for other than "catching" these cheaters?

The Gold Standard Kart can be unlocked by collecting 20,000 coins or obtaining a VR Rating of at least 10,000 points. I'm assuming you're referring to the latter, which would in turn make your technique somewhat illegitimate, which would finally result in you having a hypocritical view on the exploitation of the Maka Wuhu glitch.

I've made stellar points. How, sir, would you respond to this? :P

You misunderstood me. I'm not trying to find cheaters. I'm trying to discover low VR (somewhere around 1,000-1,200 VR) racers so that I can exploit them to boost my VR quickly before the patch. :P

That just sounds like way too much work to unlock the Golden Standard Kart. I personally think it would take less time to gather the 20,000 coins, rather than go on a wild goose chase for noobs. Is your ultimate goal to unlock the Golden Standard?

It's faster to earn 10,000 VR than it is to earn 20,000 coins. I currently have approximately 6,000 VR (60% of my Gold Standard goal), but only 3,600 coins (18% of the other Gold Standard goal). I earned that VR and coins playing with other players of my level. If I pursue some noobs, I could speed up the process.

Yes.
Firmware download is now live for North America
Apparently, this firmware upgrade patched the Maka Wahu glitch. I'm unable to confirm at this time but many sources indicate that it has.

I can still exploit the glitch after the latest firmware update.

Do you have your Golden Standard yet? If not, how many coins do you need?

I was able to recently download/ upgrade to the newest firmware. I think the options of utilizing a folders system should have been incorporated from the start. If you ask me, that's something very basic and standard. I'm glad I upgraded though. I can now organize everything how I want to. I will say though, that the eShop still needs a lot of work done though. It was horribly organized from launch and still seems to be missing the necessary navigation structure.

No. You need a whopping 20,000 coins!

I know how many are needed. How many do YOU still need?

About 16,400. I didn't play this game since my last post.

You obviously like challenge. Do you think you'll go golden before you get forced to patch your game in a few weeks?

No. I'm predicting that I'm going to have 8,000 VR by the time they patch the game.

So, you're trying to go the VR system route in order to get the Golden Standard? I could have sworn you were attempting to go the coin route before. Also, you're predicting your VR rating. That's not something that can easily be predicted, based on all the variables in the game. How are you predicting that? And, what are you going to do if you're at around 9,500 VR when the patch comes out? I ask because it certainly won't be as easy to increase your VR.

Yeah because it would take me the entire year to collect 20,000 coins.

It's easy to earn VR in Mario Kart 7, because you don't lose a massive amount of VR if you're a loser. I've seen people with 18,000+ VR! That's because you only lose a few VR when you're a loser. I personally lost a mere 1 VR when I was in last place playing with 4,000-7,000 VR players.

I'm not sure about how much you play on a daily basis, but I've been playing on and off for the past day and I've managed to collect over 1,000 coins. Theorectically, I could continue my current pace and unlock the Golden Standard within sixteen more days. I've been pretty hooked on MK7 lately. I'm trying to achieve my ultimate goal of obtaining a three-star rating for every single cup.

Also, I still haven't found any new information on the Wuhu patch. I'd assume the patch still has a tentative release date for some time within the next week or two.
I was super happy about the patch omg i hated that EVERYONE wanted to play that stage! it was hard to find ppl that wanted a variety of stages.. i have 2 out of the 3 pieces and im going with the coin colecting as well cus i find it easier and i can do it without wifi!
The only part about the update that sucks is that the online world records weren't reset for the tracks that had known exploits. I feel that the records should have been reset to keep everything fair, and more competitive. Now, there's no point even trying to go for a record time for those tracks. Nintendo let us have a piece of cake, but only half of it.
