Well, that video is from the first Denpa Men game The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave, but I hear this sequel has a lot more to do than just dungeon crawl. I also heard that one's Denpa Men can be transferred over from the first game to the sequel, but I'll find out when I get it.

As one of several new Nintendo IPs, I really enjoy it! The first game at best is cute, colorful, fun, fast-paced, and unique. At worst it's repetitious, lacks story, and can be frustrating. Hopefully, the sequel solved some of those issues.

Edit: The site you link to at the end of the article confirms transferring Denpa Men to the sequel, "a huge world map with an ocean and towns and everything," "explore the world, meet people and solve puzzles too," as well as fishing, cultivating plants (YES! Haha! Plants! I love those things!), exploring special dungeons using the StreetPass function, and fighting other players through "the network" which might be a SpotPass feature. All in all, it sounds great! Between The Denpa Men 2: Beyond The Waves and Animal Crossing New Leaf, I'll be on my 3DS all the time!

2nd Edit: Also, woah! The leader talks! XD

If you go to http://www.denpamen.com/ you'll see Nintendo Nerd's tweet is above the fold in the Twitter gadget! XD And the great aquizero is on there too! He's the 8th tweet if you scroll down. So that's pretty fun!
The game is definitely on my "to buy" list. I posted on my G+ some of the features (which were mentioned already) that this game has to offer that I basically found out via the Japanese website: http://www.denpaningen.jp/ Since the current English video is a bit quick you can check out the site to see more videos that show off the new features.

As PastaFriend said, the original game does suffer from being a little repetitive. I will admit that once I finished the main story I have not bothered to go back to the game for that reason. The sequel looks to add more to do (fish, garden) and give us an overworld map to explore. That alone is a huge upgrade and will quench my thirst. The other additions just add to the overall appeal.

I hope I can battle my friends Denpamen party really soon!

I'm guessing that by "the network" they meant the Nintendo Network? I dunno. If it is a SpotPass feature, that'd be asyncronous play, so you wouldn't be beating up your friends' Denpa Men in real time. That form of multiplayer sounds better suited to StreetPass.

So, my guess is real-time battling, not unlike that of Pokemon (this is Genius Sonority, after all, they made Pokemon Battle Revolution) through the Nintendo Network.

All in all, I'm glad that, after seeing this game initially in one of Japan's Nintendo Directs some time ago and being very interested, Nintendo decided to bring the first one over first. If it were any other company, we'd have just gotten this one and completely missed out on the first.

No, you're right. It's like Kid Icarus: Uprising, which recently ended its SpotPass content, but players can still StreetPass and battle online. I just got confused because I always thought of the Nintendo Network as a console-only thing, but I'm wrong! You're right. Maybe they'll use SpotPass for something, but it seems to be a feature that complements StreetPass when players may not always be able to StreetPass. It just never occurred to me until now! XD

Y'know what confused me? The Nintendo Network ID. Because the 3DS doesn't use one yet. So I was always like, "Oh, I guess that's not a thing with handhelds." But man, I'm learning a lot.

You're definitely spot-on. Genius Sonority is basically Nintendo, I mean, they have Nintendo to thank for their current success. And Denpa Men is like a collage of many Nintendo IPs. It would be weird if Pokémon had QR codes to share them. XD (Yes, I know the original Pokédex 3DS app did, but like, I mean for one of the main RPG generational games.)

Lastly, I also agree with you with the handling of this new IP. Clearly, Nintendo is taking advantage of digital distribution and pushing the new ideas through the eShop. I feel pretty lucky to have experienced the first title and I'm excited for this next installment. My main man Terrence is going to love the sequel! (He's my Denpa Men leader. XD)
So, a most important question for all Denpamen players. What is your favorite color? :) I found out that this game will include the rare "Gold" Denpamen that are only available via Streetpass so I will say my favorite color is gold! This is some info I found via an article from IGN (which you can read here) "...Gold, which can only be acquired through Street Pass (and which causes your team to acquire huge amounts of gold after battle)."

Thanks for sharing that article! I learned a lot. I'm going to go with pink as my favorite color because that ability sounds awesome. I'd make the "healers" and "resurrection-specialists" in the group wear pink so they could at least avoid damage from attacks aimed at them.

Man, I hope I get tickets to PAX East 2014 this year...that StreetPass dungeon sounds awesome and I'll bet the treasure at its end is worth the trouble too.

Yeah I like the Pink as well but Gold for the win, lol. Oh man I would love to go to any event that is for gamers so I can guarantee Street Passes. I am going to The Nintendo Store in New York on Saturday the 25th. Wish me luck with Street Pass! :)

That's awesome! Make sure that you check your 3DS and clear the queue often (10 at a time, I almost always let it fill up at an event). It's a full-time job, but it's worth it! XD I got a little coupon for the Nintendo World Store at PAX East and I really want to use it before it expires (next March) so I'll have to plan myself a little New York excursion as well.

Take pictures and share! You should write an article about it.

I wish you great luck with StreetPass Tags! May your StreetPass cup overflow.
