That's just bananas!

According to Nintendo fansite Nintendo Life, the digital version of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D — a completely rebuilt version of Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii — will require the consumer to...consume 17,693 bananas blocks of digital storage space. By comparison, the 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate requires 14,284 blocks and Fire Emblem Awakening requires 8,579 blocks.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D - 2.16GB
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - 1.74GB
Fire Emblem Awakening - 1.05GB

Please note: 1 Block = 128KB, 8 Blocks = 1MB, 8,192 Blocks = 1GB

This block figure makes Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D the largest digital download to date. All of Nintendo's standard 3DS systems come packaged with a 2GB SD Card, which means Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D requires a larger card. All of Nintendo's 3DS XL systems come packaged with a 4GB SD Card. If you're planning on downloading the digital version of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D from the 3DS eShop, we figured you might want to know that you can pre-order it from Newegg for only $27.99 (includes FREE shipping).

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will be released in North America and Europe on Friday, May 24th. Do you plan on purchasing the retail version or the digital version from the 3DS eShop?

That's pretty crazy, but I do want to pick this title up. Does any one know what the maximum storage card can be for the 3DS XL?
That is crazy. I think that the file size is explained based on there being two versions of the game. There is the modified version made for the 3DS as well as the original Wii version. That has to consume a lot of space. In this case, if I were to buy this game, it would be a physical copy.

The 3DS and 3DS XL both support up to 32GB SD cards.
I'll be going for the retail version, as always.
