Here's The New Overgrown Circle Pad Pro

By Kevin on Sep 20 2012 03:23 AM
So you thought the 3DS Circle Pad Pro was a hideous excuse for an additional piece of hardware. Well, some folks liked it, others didn't. Nintendo liked it enough to develop another model, for the bigger, badder 3DS. On Nintendo of Japan's website, you can see the product. There is currently no release date or price listed, but it'll be available to purchase very soon. Nintendo of America (or any other region for that matter) has not listed the product on their website yet, so there is no official confirmation that it will make its way westward. I'll bet it does, though.

So, what do you guys think?

Finally it is coming out. It is huge but we all expected that. Now they need to reveal the charging dock for the 3DS XL that will be available at most stores. I miss my dock. :(

Do you have an XL?  If so, how do you like it?

Yes I do have a 3DS XL and I love it actually. A great investment. It makes all other DS or DSi games come to life again. Of course 3DS games look superb on it.
Did they manage to fix the resolution issue with the DS games on the 3DS XL?
LOL it is kinda huge with that hardware upgrade. (that's what she said..)

Hahaha. It is kinda huge.
couldn't resist. Do you think that they will release a model in the future that has both sticks built-in?

I doubt it. It is not a very used option so it does not make sense for a remodel. Unless there is a huge spike of games that support it.
Nintendo's always been about reinventing the way you play games, anyway. Adding the second circle pad as standard would invalidate one half of their design philosophy for the 3DS. And, like Ben said, only three or so games so far add CPP support, though I believe Monster Hunter 3G AKA Ultimate requires it completely. Fairly certain that the Circle Pad Pro was initially designed for the 3DS Monster Hunter game. So, chances are that Monster Hunter 4 will also require it.
