A new firmware update, Version 4.1.0-8U, is now available for your Nintendo 3DS. You can download and install the new firmware update by clicking on the "System Settings" icon from the home screen of your 3DS. Once inside the System Settings menu, click on "Other Settings," then scroll to the 4th menu and click on "System Update." I'm not too sure what this new firmware update includes but I downloaded it and installed it anyway.

Could this be the update that patches the Maka Wuhu glitch found in Mario Kart 7?

I found this out... Nintendo has sent out a firmware update for the 3DS that gives you the ability to update your 3DS without having to input your parental control pin.
There is a separate patch out for the Maka Wuhu glitch for Mario Kart 7 now available.
Yea I just updated it thanks
So, this new system update seems to have made the following changes:

- Perental controls are no longer needed (required) to update the 3DS system
- Disabled the use of flash carts

Also, Swapnote seems to be functioning much more smoothly. Before the update, it seemed like an eternity before Swapnote loaded and downloaded new notes.
Kill all the flash carts!! :)
