New 3DS Firmware Update Available: 4.4.0-10U

By Kevin on Sep 19 2012 08:31 PM
A new firmware update, Version 4.4.0-10U, is now available for your Nintendo 3DS. If the system does not prompt you automatically, you can download and install the new firmware update by clicking on the "System Settings" icon from the home screen of your 3DS. Once inside the System Settings menu, click on "Other Settings," then scroll to the 4th menu and click on "System Update." Currently, no information regarding this system update has been released on Nintendo of America's System and Feature Updates web page. Stay tuned for additional information.

Additionally, the Japanese and European regions also received the update, named Version 4.4.0-10J and Version 4.4.0-10E, respectively.

UPDATE: According to Nintendo's website, a description for the 4.4.0-10U System and Feature update reads as follows:

"Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user's experience."

Arrrrrr! Ye be a fine mate!  Thanks for the info :)
This morning after I opened my 3DS from idle mode it immediately displayed a menu that a system update was available and to download now. I kind of like that much more than having to go through the menu's. So I updated it quick and it was done.
Man, there will be a lot of updating on my Zelda 3DS if I ever decide to use it D:

Still, this is another one of those simple updates. The lame "stability improvement" one. Those updates aren't bad, though, but I always anticipate them to have more of a "wow" factor and then I'm promptly disappointed when I check the update info on Nintendo Australia's website ;~;
Mine was automatically there when I opened it this morning as well. Only took a few seconds. Wish when these things happened we could actually SEE some results from it.
Would be nice to see it get updated so we could watch YouTube videos on it already...eesh!
You can't watch YouTube videos on the 3DS' Internet Browser? Damn.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to happen.

No. The 3DS Browser is not compatible with Adobe Flash, nor is it HTML 5 compatible. A Browser must support at least one of the two in order to display videos on YouTube.

Indeed. I don't understand why YouTube has yet to release an app for the 3DS...
I used to be upset by the fact that YouTube was not available but at this point I am over it. The screen is not optimized for video anyway. When I see a YouTube video I would like to see it in HD as I am not spoiled by the PS3 app. The only thing that would have been awesome is the very few 3D YouTube videos people upload. It would have been nice to see that. Maybe Nintendo still has plans for their own 3D video app so we can finally take and share our 3D videos with friends.

Bingo! Not only is it not optimized, but the Opera Browsers for the 3DS (also DSi) completely suck...and they're incredibly slow. I do everything I can to avoid using the 3DS Browser. Hell, I'd delete it if it wasn't part of the Operating System.

Lol. Honestly, I do not mind the browser. I used it to search images only though. (Swapnote purposes).

That's only because Nintendo's too stubborn to have the browser tap into the software RAM when no software is currently loaded. I don't know how much RAM the browser uses, but if it's 8 MB, the browser could be 12x more efficient with the software RAM.

I don't think it's a matter of being stubborn. I feel that Nintendo never really cared to focus on this aspect. Now, with the Wii U, I believe they've finally figured out how to streamline and integrate all aspects of entertainment into the Wii U.
I haven't even gotten the update yet..and this way apparently some days ago..tells me I need to stop neglecting my 3DS. lol

It should have been an update that you see on your main screen when you turn on the 3DS but you may be able to force the prompt by logging on to eShop
It's updated now, bro. What would be cool is an update that improves the bajankety internet browser.
