New Super Mario Bros. 2 Gets Live Global Coin Total Counter

By Kevin on Sep 21 2012 05:48 PM
We're used to receiving random SpotPass notifications for updated information on the global coin total for New Super Mario Bros. 2. The wait is finally over, my friends. Upon researching the official New Super Mario Bros. 2 page on Nintendo of Japan's website, I discovered that a LIVE coin total counter has been added to the header area of the page.

Upon entering the page, you're greeted with a shower of golden coins as the counter updates. It seems to update every 20-30 seconds. The count, as you can see below, is roughly 127 billion coins. That's roughly 27 billion than it was about ten days ago. Where it stops, nobody knows. The New Super Mario Bros. 2 pages for Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe have yet to receive this perk for their websites. Check it out when you get a chance!

That will be a really nice means for a quick check up on the total without waiting for a predesignated threshold to recieve a SpotPass notification from Nintendo.
That is a cool feature and I saw this coming as well. I hope it is updated for the NA site as well.
