Nintendo Reneging Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Multiplayer Feature

By Kevin on Jan 21 2013 10:19 PM
Nintendo, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon might be a game about spooky ghosts and haunted houses, but phantom-like text on the game's official website is a bit too ghastly. We have the pictures to prove that you've clearly omitted "and a brand new local multiplayer mode" from the official website description. Your fans would just like to know what's going on, that's all.

Last Friday, we reported that a brand-new local multiplayer mode was confirmed for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Like a ghost disappearing into the darkness, a portion of the description text from the official Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon website has done the same.

Initially, the last paragraph of the game's description said (click images for full view):

With so many new places to explore, all new ways to capture ghosts, and a brand new local multiplayer mode, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is another star turn for Mario's heroic brother—and it's only on Nintendo 3DS.

Today, not even a week later, it says:

Hmmm.
I wonder why they did this?
Does it relate to IGN's 3DS news?
Do you think it's because of g-g-ghosts? D:

I hope it wasn't something that went down at Nintendo of America headquarters like, "Hey. Uhm...who put on the website that Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon has multiplayer? 'Cause it doesn't. So... you're fired. Or change it. Or whatever."

And then they went on to discuss how Animal Crossing New Leaf is so awesome that they want to keep it to themselves for a few months longer. :P They're really into teasing us, apparently.
I have a feeling that the one for nintendoland is going to be similiar to the multiplayer game(s) from dark moon.
That is very odd. This is the second 1st party game that had wording issues or just plain miss information. Remember New Super Mario Bros U saying it was in full 1080p? I say that whomever reviews the text for accuracy deserves to be reprimanded.
im so looking forward to this game
