So, Sylveon, you're a Fairy type after all!

Nintendo's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2013, hosted by Global Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, kicked off with Pokémon X and Pokémon Y news. All the lingering rumors regarding the introduction of a Fairy-type into the series have been positively confirmed.

Sylveon, along with Gardevoir, Marill and Jigglypuff are just a few of the Pokémon that belong to this new Pokémon type. Fairy-type is now one of 18 Pokémon types and is super-effective against Dragon-type Pokémon. In the new trailer below, Gardevoir can be seen using Fairy Wind against Hydreigon.

With the introduction of Fairy-type Pokémon, you'll be faced with new challenges during battle.

I always though LIGHT-type would be the next type. But it's been over 12 years since a new type (STEEL and DARK were introduced in Pokémon Gold/Silver) and I'm just really glad that it's something cute like FAIRY. I've always like the cute Pokémon, and to know that they're now able to have an edge over DRAGON-types? That's just really great to me.

Clefairy has to be a FAIRY-type. It's species is Fairy Pokémon, so!

I know some people might find it lame, but I'm happy. And if this attracts more girls and women to Pokémon, then I'm all for it. It's a great franchise and I feel like this is a kind of rebirth for Pokémon. Pokémon X/Y, see you October 12th!
めっちゃおもろい!
I am excited!
Marill - a fairy type? [whaaaat?] well, let it be. anyway, still can't wait to play this game!
Well I figured as much. A new type will make battles seem fresh again and maybe that is why they decided to do this. They also made it strong against Dragon which is interesting. I guess they felt that Dragon-type was still over powered and they wanted to balance things more. I love the design of Sylveon and now my lovable Jigglypuff got even better so, I am happy.
This fairy type is awesome! It evens things out with dragons and supposidly its weak against steel? If so that will make steel type pokemon a bit more useful as well!
That video made me teary eyed in excitement! Could October come any sooner? Please?
I imagine Skitty and delcatty being fairy as well then. I wonder how many pokemon will change type, get the type added. I mean, like jigglypuff, would it become just fairy type? or fairy/normal? Got a few months left to think about it, hehe.

That would start to push Steel-type into the overpowered category. Not that I mind, of course,  Steel is my favorite type.
