Travel Using Roller Skates In Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

Planes, trains, automobiles and roller skates, folks!

Transportation can be found in many different varieties throughout the world of Pokémon. We've seen planes parked on Mistralton City's mini airfield in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, a Magnet Train that runs between Saffron City and Goldenrod City in Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version and even trucks pounding the dusty highway pavement on Unova's Route 4. What about the Trainer, though? Can you expect to see any new forms of usable transportation in the upcoming Pokémon X and Pokémon Y?

Gather round, Trainers. There may have been a very important detail that escaped you during the recent Pokémon Direct video. In fact, if you happened to blink or look away for even two seconds, you missed the part where the boy Pokémon Trainer was roller skating through the streets of a city in Paris, France. While the animation may not paint the picture all too clearly, listening to the video surely puts everything in its proper pace. It's sure to get your wheels turning.

Below is the video from the Pokémon Direct that made a worldwide appearance one week ago. The part of the video that I am referring to starts at thirty seconds (:30). Turn your speakers up, snap into an upright posture and observe what takes place between thirty and thirty-one seconds. At first glance, it appears as though the Trainer is simply walking through the city. Listen carefully, though.

The question isn't whether or not Roller Skates will make an appearance in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, but how they will be used as a brand-new method of transportation. What are your thoughts?

That's awesome!
I noticed this the first time i watched it and i'm hoping they will have more options, not just skates.
It is nice to see them change up the formula a little bit. I mean running shoes and bicycles have been a mainstay in the pokemon universe for a while. If this game is the first to offer further customization of the character and accessories I would like to see even more ways to travel.
I also noticed it at first as well... my main concern is whether we will be able to customize our characters... cus also in the video they show the male in front of a mirror... just sayin' looks like we have alot to look forward to.. i know many of you are knawing at your keyboards waiting for more info to get released like me! *nom nom nom*

The running shoes never made any sense to be, so if this becomes a new unlockable and allows you to run from the outset, then that'll be freakin' epic.

Hahaha, yeah the running shoes were kind of comical in my opinion. Oh because you an't run without the right shoes? LMAO.
Roller skates...Cool. :D
Now, if only I could get a 3DS.  Everything that's getting revealed about this game is making me want it more and more.  XD
