2012 E3: What Do You Want?

By Kevin on Apr 16 2012 06:53 PM
Each year, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) welcomes thousands of professionals to experience the future of interactive entertainment. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the show are the innovative companies that attend. Nintendo, for example, along with many other companies showcase new technologies and never-before-seen products for computers, video game consoles, handheld systems, mobile, and the Internet.

Details:
  • Nintendo E3 Presentation Tuesday, June 5 @ 9 a.m. PDT
  • Software Showcase Wednesday, June 6 @ 6 p.m. PDT
  • Developer discussion with Wii U hardware producer Katsuya Eguchi Tuesday, June 5 @ 11:30 p.m. PDT

This year, the show takes place at the Los Angeles Convention from June 5th to June 7th. Hundreds of exhibitors will have their booth on the show floor. Unfortunately, for us, we aren't authorized to attend. I remember one year (I believe it was 2008 or 2009) I was going to fly out there for the expo but I soon realized that I would just get the REJECTED stamp because I wasn't representing a company. On the flip-side, however, there is great news for us even if we can't attend. They always have live video feeds for the show so you won't miss anything that's covered.
  • How much will Nintendo reveal about its newest console, the Wii U?
  • Will Nintendo shed more light on the brand-new Mario title?
  • What about titles for the Wii U such as Pikmin, Smash Bros. Zelda, F-Zero? Will we see any of that?
  • And that Animal Crossing game! What about that one?
I'll start with a simple question.

What are you guys looking forward to this year?

I just want to see more of the Wii U.
Besides that what I want to see this year are more rpgs overall.
Oh and Smash Bros.
Other then that what I don't want to see any fps games. On any consoles.
I hope some of the 1st games for Wii U aren't a shooter.
Im not sure if im really looking forward to anything. the more I hear about things the more outdated I feel while I am not ready to update yet.
I would love to see a demo of the 3DS and the Wii U working together. I am curious as to the depth of integration/cohesion they plan on the two systems having.

I also want an official release date for 3DS games that were announced last year. (Animal Crossing, Luigis Mansion, and Paper Mario)

You shouldn't feel outdated, trust me. I don't think CG has ever even laid eyes upon a Nintendo DS in person. There's a reason he's called Classicgamer though.
I say it every year, and it's all I care about: Timesplitters 4!

Actually, it's on June 5th. It looks like I'll be watching this at 1AM.
so my brother sent me this the other day.  I found it worth a chuckle or two.

With only six more days to go until the 2012 E3 kicks off, all (most) of our burning questions are beginning to heat up. There's a few things that I would like to see happen, aside from all the hyped up mainstream speculation.

First, I'd like to see improvements made for the eShop. It needs it. The navigation system is just mediocre and could use a dramatic makeover. The current navigation system utilizes pages. That's OK, I guess but it becomes cumbersome and tedious after a while. Why not just have a vertical scrolling list so users don't have to click back and forth through multiple pages? Another improvement I would like to see is "gifting." I'm still wondering why on Earth I can't gift an eShop title to one of my friends. The Wii can do it, so why can't the 3DS?

Is there anything you guys would like to see changed for the eShop? Or, is there anything else you're just dying to know about what's in store for this year?
More Wii U, even though I won't be buying one at launch (cashflow), and more IP's for the 3DS...Pikmin, Smash Bros., Metroid...you get the drift :)

I think you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised after it's all said and done.

Oh for sure, I seriously doubt Nintendo could upset me :)
I really would like Nintendo to show off Animal Crossing 3DS and provide a release date....oh wait E3 is over and that didn't happen. :pissed:

I was pretty shocked as well. I mean, we've already seen trailers and a freaking demo at the 2011 E3. I'm wondering why this game has all of a sudden become a hidden secret. Maybe Kyle (DarthArk for anyone that doesn't know yet) is right about the development process. The developers could have very well decided to test out the 3D effects by jumping into the water. Then...well...then the shark...you know the rest...
