Club Nintendo Japan Touts Towels

By Kevin on Aug 10 2012 08:11 AM
Japan, land of the rising sun, just brightened up its Club Nintendo arsenal with some snazzy new swag. I know, I know, Club Nintendo of North America and Europe are always lagging behind. If you think Club Nintendo Japan always rewards its members with the most premium of items, you're right. In fact, they even went beyond that by offering hand-made items, specifically towels. These aren't the type of towels you should dry off with or nail to the wall though.

These finely crafted towels come in six different patterns; four vertically-themed and two horizontally-themed. They're all the same size, 34x90cm, or approximately 13.4 by 35.4 inches. Each hand-made towel is crafted, using a five-step process and cost 300 Club Nintendo points.

Somegata indicates the actual stencil. Today, somegata is used for clothing, curtains, neckties, scarves, T-shirts, and more.

Here are the six different towels. You can wipe the drool from the corner of your mouth, just don't use one of these towels. Click on each image for a better look.

That is awesome. Man this reminds me that I really need more Club Nintendo points. I will surely get some with the 3DS XL and NSMB2.
