Is The $1.99 Pokédex For iOS App Worth It?

The Pokémon Company have just released their official mobile Pokédex application, Pokédex For iOS, for Apple's App Store. For starters (I love using that word for Pokémon articles), its price is appealing at only $1.99. Hold on though, there's more to it than that. The $1.99 only gives you access to the 5th Generation of Pokémon, found in the Unova region. The other four regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh) can each be purchased for an additional cost of $5.99.

The app itself seems to be pretty nice, featuring all sorts of information ranging from comprehensive stats, to "powerful search functions!" Available in six different languages, it also features full Retina support for high-def visuals. At the end of the day, it's going to cost you a whopping $25.95 (excluding tax) to complete your Pokédex. Go ahead and ask Professor Oak about that one, young trainer.

Well the convenience of having this app on your phone, something that is with you all the time is great. It is an app that people have wanted for a while. So much so that there were many non-official versions in the marketplace until Nintendo found out and had them removed.

The price point is harsh, especially if you want to purchase them all in one shot. I would recommend buying the regions little by little to not feel the sting.

I have this app on my 3DS XL for $14.99 and I do not have an iphone either so I am not interested in it. Even if it comes out to Google Play marketplace I am not certain I could convince myself that it is worth this much.
nha i don't need this I have it on my 3DS and this IOS version is to expensive for my it's not wort it
