Video Reveals How Miiverse Functions On Mobile Device

That's the spirit, Nintendo!
A few days ago, I published an article confirming that accessibility to Miiverse via mobile devices and PC web Browsers would become available no later than May of 2013. That news was announced by Miiverse producer Kiyoshi Mizuki during a Game Developers Conference (GDC) presentation. Today, I'd like to share a video I found while scouring the Internet for information related to the new way we can expect to communicate with our family and friends through Miiverse by using our mobile devices.

As you can see in the video, Miiverse will be accessed from mobile devices via a web address. If you look carefully, you can see the Browser loading the page whenever certain parts of Miiverse are accessed by the user. Up until now, it was unclear to some whether or not Miiverse would be released in the form of a mobile application downloadable from iTunes or Google Play. There are however rumors suggesting that a downloadable application (proper) could eventually make its way into the Android and iOS market.

Upon accessing Miiverse from your mobile device, you'll need to log in by supplying your current NNID (Nintendo Network ID) and password. The PC version of Miiverse will work the same way for logging in. Initially, basic functions such as posting and replying to others and accessing communities will be available. Additional Miiverse functionality will be incorporated with future updates. Miiverse is also coming to the Nintendo 3DS, but will arrive at some point later this year.

Glad to hear!  I don't know how much I care about this yet.  I just don't see myself using Miiverse when I'm not on my Wii U.  What would I do?
I like it. I think it becomes a bigger deal once it reaches 3DS, though.

I think the one feature that warrants the mobile app is organizing online games or tournaments. Its not in the video, but is coming.

If you look back to the Jan 23/24 Nintendo Direct that was focused entirely on the Wii U, Satoru Iwata said that there will also be a proper smartphone app for Miiverse in the future. I had a look myself at the EU Direct and he talks about it near the 19 minute point of the video.
