Is Your Nintendo Network ID Verified?
By Kevin on Dec 28 2012 03:19 PM
I've made a small update to our Wii U Friend Codes page, which will ensure accuracy is maintained for the listed Nintendo Network IDs (NNID). Since any Nintendo Network ID can be searched for within Miiverse, I will personally verify all listed IDs. The IDs that do not return a positive match will ultimately be deleted from the list. For the IDs that are valid, those members get a cool "verified" badge next to their NNID. Currently, only a few members are verified, but that's because I was testing the option out on members who I already knew to be legit.
Here's an example of what a verified NNID looks like on our Wii U Friend Codes page.

Yup I figured as much. I tend to read the home page at least 2-3 times a week and I read every article.

Nah, I'm kidding. It's still really early in the morning for me here. Seriously though, thanks.

I just performed a verification check on all non-verified NNIDs and every single one of them were valid. In the past, when verifying, I'd come across one that was bogus. Not this time though.
Our NNID count is now sitting at a solid 50 verified Wii U members. That's not too terribly bad in my opinion.

Can your NNID only be verified, if your Miiverse account says you own a WiiU; or will there be a seperate check for 3DS NNIDs?
