It's Ben A Great Year For Ben

By Kevin on Jan 07 2013 02:36 AM
Last year was an amazing year for us here at Nintendo Nerds. I've already published an article about all that stuff though, which can be read about right here. The reason I'm writing today, is not to cast light on the Nintendo Nerds, but what makes Nintendo Nerds who we are. If you're saying to yourself, "the members make Nintendo Nerds" I will have to agree with you 110%. If it weren't for everyone here, I can promise you that I wouldn't be here doing any of this. I truly admire each and every one of you, and appreciate everything everyone here does. I simply can't express that enough. You guys and gals are some truly awesome Nerds.

I would like to take a moment to personally recognize one member in particular though. Benjamin (aka aquizero) joined our party on May 7th of last year. Only weeks later, on May 23rd, he was welcomed to Team Nintendo Nerds, bearing the title of Columnist. Benjamin is a truly great guy with a big heart and has a true passion for gaming and writing, and has contributed greatly to the wellness of Nintendo Nerds. He has currently written 31 articles, which are listed here. He has transposed his intuitive perspectives onto the "pen and paper," which have spurred some interesting and fun discussions.

As of this writing, he has also contributed greatly to our community discussions with 1,847 comments. He current holds the rank of Luigi and shows no sign of slowing down. It's clear that his activity and passion is unwavering and I look forward to participating in many more discussions with Benjamin. We should all look forward to it. He's truly a fun guy with a great personality. He also makes some goofy and funny videos during his lunch breaks.

Please take a moment to recognize Benjamin as a valuable team member, and fellow friend and gamer. I'll be sending something, via mail, to this chap in the very near future as part of my personal appreciation for his hard work, devotion and overall participation. We can't wait to find out what you receive, Benjamin! Thanks for everything you do and thanks for just being a great person, even outside of Nintendo Nerds!

Words may alter the true image of Benjamin so I'll try to be as  short as can be.
He is really a true fellow, a great guy with quite a great heart. I've noticed his implication in writing very good, immersive articles.
He is a true Nintendo fan on every level, his gaming experience is peerless.
I follow his posts eagerly and with great interest because with his every thought and material I get wiser every day.
For me it's an honour to be on his lists and circles.
I personally thank Benjamin for what he's doing.

Well...I tried to be short.
''It's Ben A Great Year For Ben'' - That is just great!

In all seriousness, 2012 was amazing ever since I found this website. The year became even better when I was able to join the crew. I finally was able to focus my passion for gaming. I have had nothing but positive experiences here. Working with Kevin has been especially grand. He is a good man with many visions and a passion that exceeds my own. I am sure 2013 will be even better!

Thank you for the recognition. This really put a smile on my face.
I must admit, he was the first person to greet me on this site and I immediately felt welcomed in a genuine manner.
I may not know Ben well at all but, I look forward to becoming familiar with him this coming year.
Ben is a great dude, and was also one of the first people to welcome me when I joined this site.  Nice job Ben!  Keep up the good work!
Congrats Ben! :)
congrats Benjamin! Looking forward to great articles from you in 2013!
It was because I saw something Ben had posted on Google+ that I even found Nintendo Nerds to begin with!

Ben and Kevin have become the face of Nintendo Nerds for me and their passion is infectious. I've already told two friends of the site and I'll be telling more. I'm very grateful to have a safe space to enjoy Nintendo with other fans.

"We can't wait to find out what you receive, Benjamin!"
But Kevin, you sent it! If you know what you sent...does this mean you don't expect it will arrive the way it was shipped? Just tell us, was it alive when you put it in the box or will it spring to life when the package is opened?

I didn't think Japan's genetic program had created a live Pikachu yet, but maybe I'm wrong...better wear rubber gloves when you open the package, just in case. :P

Man, this really feels great when we receive feedback like this. I couldn't have made a wiser decision when comes to making a new friend and fellow writer/ contributor. This week so far has just been amazing. I'm speechless.

I really like you, Pasta. I've taken note of how you post here and I'm impressed with the way you think. You're analytical and witty...and I like that. Just to make things very clear, however, there is tall grass here; really tall grass!

The difference so far between other Nintendo communities I've tried and Nintendo Nerds is professionalism. It makes a huge difference to have staff that are mature, responsible, respectful, and accepting.

(Haha, I want to write something like, "So don't screw it up!" or even, "But I haven't been here that long, so I could be wrong." :P)

I really like you too, Kevin. Someday, when I'm ready financially and have taken some Japanese lessons, I might have to have a conversation about what it's like to live in Japan. It's been a dream of mine to go there. :)

I knew Pokémon was based on a true story! I KNEW IT! You think they have to put the words, "Living creature inside," on a package if the Pokémon is in a Pokéball though? I guess they do, on the off-chance it gets out somehow. Precautions and all.
Congratulations, Benjamin! LOL

@Pasta - if you'd like to get to know me better, send me a PM or something and we'll go from there. :)
I will say, congratulations Ben! I know I'm new here, and most likely not be here all too long (I never stay at any website long, except for Youtube and XAT :P) But I do wish for the best of luck to you, and the rest of Nintendo Nerds!

Wow, that is a very nice compliment. Thank you.
