In a recent video released by Capcom, the multiplayer functionality of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is explained. The animated explanation is presented by the game's two types of hunting companions; the Cha-Cha and the Kayamba. The conveyance is cute and adorable, and gets the point across in a humorous way.

The 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate can be played in single player mode or with up to three others via local wireless connection. The Wii U version will also support a local wireless connection as well, meaning that the Wii U version and 3DS version can communicate together for local multiplayer fun. Unlike the 3DS version, the Wii U version supports an online multiplayer mode, giving you the freedom to play with other Wii U hunters using your Internet connection. Hunters can share their save data between the 3DS and Wii U version of the game, and vice versa.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, for both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, will be released in March of 2013.

This is good information to know. It reminds me of the cross-platform compatibility that Dragon Quest X offers, between the Wii and the Wii U.
That was one of the cutest commercials I have ever seen. That explained the functionality so well and in the cutest way possible. It has me pretty intrigued.
Can't wait to get the 3DS and Wii U version. I loved Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii. I still play the PSP Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on my PS Vita.

Sweet, My Son and I went to Game Stop and checked the Wii U demo out. It was amazing. For some reason this site won't let me respond to your feeds.

Jealous! So the Wii U demo is out at your local Gamestop? I have been waiting to get my hands on it at my local one. I am also a lot more intrigued with this game so I would not mind seeing this as the WII U demo.
Ya, the cross game sharing function allows you to play and level up on your 3DS and then sync your Monster Hunter Character on the W|ii U and play on-line.
So excited, can't wait to play it!
I think this game will be just what I need to get into the series. Though I would prefer to play this on the Wii U rather than the 3DS.
Well because you can transfer your character back and forth between the 3DS and the Wii U to progress, I believe it will be a very enjoyable title on the road or on the big screen.
