Eevee, Mewtwo, Croagunk, Zoroark, Litwick, and Genesect NFC figures revealed!

Pokémon Rumble U (ポケモンスクランブルU Pokémon Scramble U in Japan) is quickly becoming one of the most interesting upcoming titles for the Wii U eShop. Pokémon Rumble U's clever use of the Wii U GamePad's Near Field Communication (NFC) technology is nothing to brush off.

By placing pint-sized Pokémon NFC figures on the GamePad's NFC reader, players will be able to summon those special Pokémon into the game and onto the battlefield while playing. Information for those Pokémon, such as their gained battle statistics, can be transferred back onto the NFC figure and even shared with a friend. The figures can be purchased from participating Pokémon Centers throughout Japan for Â¥200 Yen apiece, which is approximately equal to $2 US Dollars. If purchased as a complete set, one special Pokémon will be included, making your purchase a bit more appealing.

One month ago, we reported on the first set of Pokémon Rumble U NFC figures which included Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Torchic, Piplup, Lucario, and Victini. This set will be available for purchase on April 24th, one day before the game debuts in just a few short weeks. Today, The Pokémon Company have revealed the second set of NFC figures: Eevee, Mewtwo, Croagunk, Zoroark, Litwick and Genesect. This second set will become available for purchase on Saturday, May 25th. At this rate, it's becoming more and more likely that these toy Pokémon NFC figures will slowly take over the world and change the way we interact with our Wii U games. Of course, these figures aren't a requirement for standard gameplay, but it sure make battling more interesting.

It is the year 3013. As Kevin predicted, the toy Pokémon NFC figures took over the world. But it had happened at a pace that could only be described as so not slowly. An extraordinary group of humans who called themselves Nintendo Nerds turned to space travel to escape the constant toy battles on the Earth's surface. They hoped to find a way to turn the tide of battle for mankind. Miraculously, they came across an asteroid that held the power to stop the toy Pokémon tyrants.

Capturing the glowing asteroid, they journeyed homeward, but just outside Earth's atmosphere, a fleet of spaceships intercepted our heroes. The crew was horrified by the nightmare that stood in their way. Many of the toy Pokémon had managed to steal spacecrafts and were poised to attack our noble heroes. The team, forced from their home planet of Earth, struggles to return.

"Captain Kevin, I request permission to engage Near Field Communication!" PastaFriend knew the Nintendo Nerds spacecraft, the N.N. Hope, would only be able to survive the intergalactic Pokémon attack with the device enabled.

I can't get over how incredibly cute these toys are. I will want to "catch'em all". So far my favorites are Eevee and Genesect! I hope Nintendo releases some information on the internation version soon.
