Our bottled-up excitement for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD makes us tingle all over.

The Nintendo Direct @E3 2013 revealed a brand-new trailer for Link's newest upcoming Wii U title, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. In the trailer below, it's plain to see that the game's graphics boast bold beauty and are nothing short of being gorgeous. For those curious, they're also fully rendered in 1080p. Improved character expressions are made possible by using shaders — special graphic design tools that allow for a desired level of light.

Perhaps one of the most surprising bits of information revealed was that players could utilize an in-game item called the Tingle Tuner. In the original 2003 version of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, for the GameCube, the Game Boy Advance could be connected to the GameCube via the Nintendo GameCube–Game Boy Advance Link cable. Upon connecting the two systems, players were able to call upon the help from a character by the name of Tingle.

For the Wii U version, the Tingle Tuner has been renamed to the Tingle Bottle and can be used via Miiverse. According to the trailer, "you can insert a message you've written, and send it out to sea for someone unknown to receive." This will essentially post a Miiverse message to the The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Wii U community, where other players can read and respond to it. Whenever other players send their message in a bottle out to sea, their bottles will wash up on the shore in your game where you can then read and respond to them. In-game pictographs (screenshots) can even be attached to your bottled-up messages.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD is making landfall this October

I haven't played the original game, but, I believe, that this version is going to be great!
Game was amazing. So many good memories playing through this. Just hope in addition to the miiverse integration and tingle bottle bit that they add the cut out dungeons. I would be able to die happy if it were true! After i played them of course!
I am so glad that they are putting so much work into making this game feel like it was meant for the Wii U. I never tried the original Tingle Tuner but I am glad he is back in some manner. I think messages in a bottle is brilliant.
Messages in bottles...it reminds me of Animal Crossing.

Have I mentioned I love Animal Crossing around here? I forget, my mind is so full of Animal Crossing things.

I haven't played LoZ: The Wind Waker, but I'm always been enamored by the art style. Everything's made better in HD. Is anyone else addicted to nature programs in HD? It's really great to see plants, animals, and landscapes in that much detail.

How much do you guys think this will cost? It is a remake, but some serious development went into it.

That's what I was wondering. I hope it's low enough that new folks will buy into it. Depending how much it is will also impact when I get it but I def want it.

Even if it is $60, I will still buy it. I understand that the cost of development may cause that to be the price, but either way, a used copy for GameCube on amazon is nearly $50, so it's not a big deal to me.
