Zen Pinball 2 Now Available In European Wii U eShop

By Kevin on Feb 02 2013 03:37 AM
Zen Studios — the video game developer behind some of the most popular pinball games — now has a new title available in the Wii U eShop. Zen Pinball 2 is now available in Europe and will be coming to the North American region very soon. The game is completely free to download and it gives players the option to try out and purchase only the tables they like. Full versions (add-on content) of the tables can be purchased via Wii U eShop.

As far as add-on content goes, there are currently four packs ($14.45 AUD each), each containing four tables. Ten individual tables can be purchased as well, each for $4.35 AUD. Please note that these are prices specific to Australia.

The individual pricing is kinda ridiculous, especially since the same tables, on the same game, on my Windows 8-loaded laptop are AU$2.99 each. That said, I find it surprising that Microsoft's Xbox Games platform is the only platform where the game is called Pinball FX, rather than Zen Pinball.

End of the day, my vote goes to the Xbox version, as you do get the Mars table for free, alongside the aforementioned cheaper prices. I might buy some tables for the Wii U version in the future, but not any time soon. The last six-ish bucks I had in my eShop wallet went to The Cave, which is a much better investment overall.
