Hi everyone,

As you may or may not know, my plans to move to Japan have changed. I'm no longer moving there. I was presented with an unexpected opportunity at the last possible moment (here in the states) and I took it. I'll still be extremely busy, but I do believe I will have more time to focus on our forums and members. As for keeping up with Nintendo News, that's something I'm still trying to figure out -- which takes up much more time than the forums.

That said, I have already started making some behind-the-scenes changes to Nintendo Nerds, and I will continue to do so until our team is happy with the results. If anyone has any questions related to the changes and the future of Nintendo Nerds, please feel free to ask in this topic. Thanks to everyone who continues to show support here!

- Kevin

I'm kind of excited for the new changes, besides your avatar, can you give an example of a small change we should expect?

Changing my avatar wasn't part of any new change. I changed it because I got bored with looking at the other one.

To answer your question, I would like to get back to the basics of having meaningful discussions with members -- perhaps even come up with a few more gaming contests or something too. Specifically, I'd like to update the forum software to the latest version and scrap all the other stuff we don't use or keep up to date. I want to go back to just having a forums community and go from there.

One small change I made earlier today was adjusting our URL. Instead of http://nintendonerds.com, it's simply http://nintendonerds.com -- just took out the "www" portion.

The contests thing I'm excited about. I would be glad to help in this. We've had some great contests, but then we've had some duds

Another small note: I've renewed our software license and have downloaded the latest version. I'm now trying to figure out the best way to upgrade. I'll continue to make small changes, and I'll do my best to notify everyone along the way.

Those interested in seeing what the newest version of the forum software looks like can view it here: https://invisionpower.com/forums/

Oh, our "Cheats" section is gone. RIP

rip cheats

I think I notice a small change in the home page. It's so small that I don't know what could have changed

If you are just going to concentrate on forums, is there any chance that we could get a shoutbox back?

I've removed the big Pokémon X and Y image at the very top, along with the four smaller images underneath it. The tag list for each article has also been removed and only 10 articles are displayed instead of 15.

As for the shout box, it's funny how you mentioned that. That's one thing I have already decided to look into once we get everything up and running on the latest forum software version.

A new site update article has been published on our homepage. It more or less echoes this topic, but it's the "official" announcement for new changes to come.
