#57933 The forum is pretty much dead...

Posted Kevin on 25 October 2016 - 09:31 PM

Hi, everyone.

Sadly, the forums have been in trouble for quite some time -- maybe around 3 or 4 years, actually. When people flocked here to share their 3DS Friend Codes, it may have seemed like a bustling little place. The problem with that, however, is that many of those people never bothered with the forum discussions. And then Nintendo starting using NNIDs.

But there's an even bigger problem with activity here.

If you look around, we aren't the only Nintendo community that's practically dead, for lack of a better word. I feel the majority of today's gaming society is more interested in cool phones, tablets, and new-age game systems. Forums as a whole, are quickly dissolving across the internet. Look around. There are very few Nintendo communities out there that continue to stand the test of time; many of those were established long before Nintendo Nerds was even conceived and, as a result, have a much larger member base.

Furthermore, I feel society is becoming more and more lazy. For example, you only need 140 characters (or less) to send out your thoughts to a worldwide audience, where there are millions upon millions of people. And many of those people share common interests, such as video games. Quite simply, evolving technology is making it easier for people to communicate more effectively with less effort.

I'm not really sure what everyone expects for the future of Nintendo Nerds as a community, but I haven't seen much life here in quite a while. The forums wouldn't be impossible to resurrect, but it's going to take a ton of energy to make that happen -- energy that I, personally, do not have. In addition to running the Nintendo News website, I'm extremely busy gearing up to move back to Japan in about two months.

I do appreciate everyone hanging on, however -- Chris, Vladimir, CG, and the few active members! And man do we all have some great memories. Inactive community or not, I truly appreciate each and every one of you.

Feel free to share your thoughts. I'm all ears eyes.

#57934 The forum is pretty much dead...

Kevin, our leader has made an appearance.

I really don't know what we can do. I've tried just about everything I can do.

It's just the same old thing for the longest time. Nothing's changed (The look for example) (When I was with proboards running a free based forum, I had like 10 skins)  We don't have any features that we used to have (the shoutbox and photo album) I understand those cost $, but if the activity is dead, then you don't need to waste any money.

Our greatest time was when we were with vbulletin and had the arcade, but that defeated the purpose of having a Nintendo based forum and more focus was with the arcade. We could go the route of all gaming not just Nintendo and start over.

I've got a threat. Be active or suffer the hell of

#57692 Warning about gamereproductions.com

Posted Classicgamer on 10 June 2016 - 11:44 PM

This may seem like a great site with some good games/hacks of games. However, it has come to my attention by reading other gaming sites that several buyers have gotten charged for the game, but not received it.

Beware of buying from them.

this is Chris's playthrough of Pursuit of the Dreadnought. I have it as an unlisted video for the time being, meaning you need the link to see it.

I need a way we can order these in the playlist

@Vladimir: Emulators on their own are fine. Links to ROM download sites, on the other hand, are prohibited.
Okay then, thanks for the heads-up. The links themselves both lead to download links (one to the website to install it and one to a YouTube video where you could also install it), so I deleted those links immediately to avoid spread of ROM files and all of that kind of stuff.

I got Mario Maker! :D
I've barely put my console for the day.

I made a few courses if anybody wants to try:

Guardians of the Coin Fountain: E42C-0000-013E-DDB6
Plan Ahead: B919-0000-013E-E135
In Flight: CA8C-0000-013E-E698

Chris: "Past and Present" is awesome
